Chef Irvin's Package Chef David Irvin is the lead instructor of New Brunswick Community College St Andrews Campus Culinary program. With his imagination, flair and passion for food, he guides and moulds the skills of the next generation’s great chefs. Learning by doing is paramount for Irvin who tries to instil in students skills that will prepare them for entry into kitchens in North America and abroad.
This Saint John native’s love for food has taken him around the globe cooking and learning in places as diverse as Western Europe and Australia. His travel has given Chef David a multi-cultural perspective on the culinary arts.
A graduate of the Hospitality and Tourism Management- Food and Beverage Management program at NBCC St Andrews Campus, Chef David received the Red Seal Certification from the New Brunswick Apprenticeship program in 2000 and went on to win the New Brunswick Culinary Competition. He then represented New Brunswick at the National Culinary Competition.
Formerly the personal chef and function coordinator to the Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick, the Honorable Marilyn Trenholm-Counsell, Chef David has extensive catering, hotel and restaurant experience.
